On the women 's day !!

Today I got a couple of women’s day messages that really made me think.
We are cute daughters, we are sweet sisters, we are lovely lovers, we are darling wives, we are adorable mothers , we are source of strength , we are women…happy women’s day “

I have nothing against being all this but I believe we should celebrate womanhood in spite of all the roles we play in others’ life. Even if a woman is not an ideal daughter, wife, mom…there is a reason to celebrate .We are much more than our relationships. All through our lives there is this pressure of being a lovely this and an adorable that and in trying to fit into all these roles we forget our own self. Let this women’s day free you from relationships and celebrate just YOU, the essence that makes you a wonderful person in spite of the flaws that others see.

“Do you know why God Created Man 1st and then Woman? Cause you need a rough Draft before creating a master piece. Have a great Women’s day “

Am I supposed to happy about this? What are we trying to project here? Why this comparison with men? We are different and equal, that’s the way we were created. We have to accept the differences and lessen the gap that divides the two socially and economically. We have to fight against injustice and help raise awareness and not just verbally try to project that one is superior to another.

If I had to send something i’d say
“I don’t mind being in a man’s world , as long as I am woman in it “
This one is my favorite. I love this one still as it says nothing against men. It just celebrates the idea of being a woman.

I don’t want to be compared to anyone or against any benchmark.
I don’t strive to be somebody’s ideal someone.
I just want to live my life with peace and independence, doing small things that make me happy and the world a better place.
In my small way I want to contribute.
In my small way I want to be a part of this world.
I don’t want to be judged based on some pseudo- standards.
I don’t want to be discriminated against or be subject to bias.
I don’t want reservations or special privileges but I don’t want to be deprived of my basic rights either.
I have a right to say no.
I have a right to be heard.
I want freedom to choose and decide for myself.
I want to be accepted as I am…I want to celebrate the idea that I am a Woman.

I know how people confuse being feminist for man-haters :) ...and women's day as a day against men ...lol

If all these message senders even remotely remember their messages for more than that one day, I guess the world would give you that freedom. I need no reminders about being all lovely, adorable and a perfect blessing.

I did not choose to be a woman, but now that I am. I am loving being myself. Being a man would not have made me less caring, loving or adorably perfect.

Kisses.

A post brilliantly composed, balanced to the core and absolutely fab when it came to reflecting the feelings within.

"Tangy Tuesday",an award well deserved but I could have given this post an award as "Fab Tuesday" if I had one with me :-)

Two words for the post, "Brilliantly Cool"!

Way to go Lady!! Brilliant take...When I received the same series of sms, I just blankly forwarded them and on an afterthought felt it unfair to run down men! We are in a world of co-existence and our womanhood is celebrated and treasured as much by the men in our family too...Not all men are MCPs are they so why these sms that belittle someone just to prove women are gr8!
We dont need that..
Preeti Im proud of you!!:D

Very well written....but remember to make a woman feel like being a woman....only a man can do it. They are created by God for a reason....its men and women together who bring a new life onto this planet.....! Keep up the good work!

Hi,

Read ur post and felt it so close to my own thoughts. if we women do what we r best at and men do what they are best at and not strive not to fight with each other , world would be so so much better.

A sharp post and to the point. IMHO, these messages are sent just because these are the ones that get famous and noted. And for that there are only the protagonists to blame. Nobody need take pride in being an woman or a man for that matter. Its all a case of misplaced chromosomes. We should be proud that we have a thumb. :)

(Hope I did not offend you.. Btw, came here from BlogAdda.)

Hi Preeti. I came, I saw and was overwhelmed. It was a wonderful experience and you'll see more of me here.
I'm a man and I fill 50% of the spiritual space that I need. I can't fill the rest of the space. Only a woman can. Women are superbly different and I really need that difference in my life.
